Dr. Chandramouli Chandrasekaran

Biography

Chandramouli Chandrasekaran is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Neural Dynamics Cognition Lab at Boston University. His research focuses on understanding brain processes involved in decision-making, particularly how the brain processes complex unisensory and multisensory inputs to generate appropriate actions at the right time. His work employs a combination of electrophysiological, behavioral, modeling, and computational techniques, with a specific emphasis on the dynamical systems theoretical framework. By analyzing neural activity patterns and utilizing advanced recurrent neural network models, he seeks to uncover the computational mechanisms that guide decision-making in the brain. Chandrasekaran's research is also aimed at contributing to translational efforts that leverage circuit-level treatments and brain-machine interfaces for patient populations facing nervous system disabilities.
