Biography

Chandrima Chatterjee received her undergraduate education in India, obtaining a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry, followed by a Master's degree specializing in Physical Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. She conducted research in the field of Biophysical Chemistry during her Master’s program. After completing her M.Sc., she joined Yale University for her PhD in Physical Chemistry, where she worked on various aspects of chemical and biological phenomena using optical tools. Dr. Chatterjee has diverse research interests, focusing on how spectroscopic techniques can elucidate complex molecular dynamics. Her postdoctoral work at the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine advanced her research into motor proteins and microtubule dynamics at the single-molecule level. Dr. Chatterjee is dedicated to an interdisciplinary approach to research, combining physical and biophysical chemistry to develop innovative optical schemes with significant chemical and biochemical applications. Furthermore, she is actively engaged in pedagogy innovation and enhancing teaching methods in her field.
