Biography

Changfu Zou is an Associate Professor in the Systems Control area of Electrical Engineering at Chalmers University. His research focuses on the modeling, monitoring, and automatic control of energy storage systems, particularly lithium-ion batteries. He collaborates with industry partners such as Volvo, Scania, and ABB. He has served as a principal investigator for various projects funded by the Swedish Research Council and the European Commission, including BatCon, MoreSafe, SmartHEM, ULICBat, and TEAMING. Dr. Zou has supervised five Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual/Postdoctoral Fellowships and has been appointed as a review expert for research grants from the European Commission, National Science Foundation, and others. Currently, he serves as an associate editor for multiple journals, including IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification. Dr. Zou received several awards such as the IEEE VTS Climate Challenge Award and joined Chalmers in 2017, progressing from Researcher to Assistant Professor and then to Associate Professor. He obtained his PhD degree in Automation Control Engineering from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and was a visiting researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2015 to 2016.
