Dr. Chantal Boucher

Biography

Chantal M. Boucher is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Windsor, where she joined in 2021. She holds a Ph.D. in Adult Clinical Psychology from the University of Windsor and has completed a predoctoral training at the Calgary Clinical Psychology Residency Program, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan. Dr. Boucher is a licensed psychologist in Ontario, specializing in competencies related to lifespan development, individuals, and couples. Her research primarily focuses on relationships and the interplay between autobiographical memories, emotions, self-views, and processes that support perspectives and experiences. She is particularly interested in the (meta)cognitive mechanisms that promote adaptive self-reflection, emotional change, psychological closure, and trauma resolution. In addition to theoretical development, she aims to investigate applications for clinical practice through her work in her Memory, Emotion, Therapy Applications (META) Lab.
