Biography

Chantal Kopecky is a lecturer at the University of New South Wales Sydney, having obtained her PhD in Immunology from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. Her research interests primarily focus on cardiovascular lipoprotein biology and chronic kidney disease. Since moving to Sydney in 2016, she has been investigating metabolic and inflammatory complications of diabetes on cardiovascular disease. She has also worked as part of the Pancreatic Cancer Translational Research Group at UNSW, where her research looked at novel therapeutic approaches to improve drug delivery in pancreatic cancer using nanomedicines. Currently, she focuses on biomaterials and tissue engineering, particularly cancer mechanobiology and the development of 3D tumor microenvironments. Her academic contributions are recognized through various awards and grants throughout her career, reflecting her commitment to advancing research in her fields of interest.
