Biography

Chaoyun Song is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Engineering at King's College London, specializing in wireless energy harvesting and power transfer. His research interests focus on rectifying antennas, flexible electronics, metamaterials, and low-power sensors. He earned his BEng, MSc, and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Liverpool between 2012 and 2017. Chaoyun has been awarded four US/EU patents for his work in rectenna technology, which has been utilized by UK start-up companies. His expertise has also led him to guest edit for IEEE journals and receive multiple prestigious awards, including the IEEE AP-S Young Professional Ambassador in 2023 and the EuCAP Antenna Paper Award.
