Biography

Charalampos Stasinakis is a professor at the Adam Smith Business School, specializing in Accounting and Finance. He is a member of the school's research cluster, focusing on areas such as quantitative finance, operational research, artificial intelligence, neural networks, heuristics, machine learning, big data, financial forecasting, risk management, portfolio optimization, technical analysis, and banking efficiency. His research interests also extend to financial technology. Charalampos is involved in supervising doctoral students in topics related to ESG investment and machine learning, as well as studies on FinTech from a shadow banking perspective. He currently teaches advanced topics in machine learning and financial technology at the postgraduate level and has previously taught corporate finance, international financial management, and strategic management accounting among other courses. He is recognized as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and serves as a guest editor for the Annals of Operations Research and the Forecasting Journal. Additionally, he is an external examiner at Cass Business School for BSc Investment & Financial Risk Management. Charalampos is an active member of professional associations such as the Operational Research Society and the Financial Markets Association.
