Biography

Charity Urbanski is a Teaching Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of History at the University of Washington. She is a Hanauer Endowed Fellow with a focus on Medieval Europe and Gender History. Urbanski's research interests have evolved to include monstrosity in medieval Europe, as reflected in her recent publication, 'Medieval Monstrosity: Imagining Monstrous Medieval Europe'. Her teaching spans various aspects of medieval history, with courses designed to engage students in understanding the complexity of the medieval world. She has received multiple nominations for distinguished teaching awards and has contributed to the exploration of medieval subjects through a diverse curriculum.
