Biography

Charles Beach is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Economics at Queen's University. He has a BA (Honors) from McGill University and a PhD from Princeton University. His main research interests include income distribution, applied labor market analysis, and econometrics. Beach has been influential in the field, co-founding the Canadian Econometric Study Group and initiating the Canadian Household Panel Survey. He is also a founding member of the Canadian Employment Research Forum and served as the Chair of the Data Liberation Initiative. From 1995 to 2002, he was the Editor of Canadian Public Policy/Analyse de Politiques and directed the John Deutsch Institute from 2001 to 2009. He has taught at Queen's University since 1972, focusing on applied econometrics, income distribution, labor economics, and industrial relations.
