Dr. Charles Debattista

Biography

Charles DeBattista is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. He is a member of the University Medical Line with a focus on Clinical Psychiatry and Psychopharmacology. His research interests include treatment-resistant depression, novel biological interventions for mental illness, and augmentation strategies for treating depression. DeBattista has been recognized for his contributions to medical education, receiving the Nancy C.A. Roeske, M.D. Award for Excellence in Medical Student Education from the American Psychiatric Association in 2018, as well as being honored as Teacher of the Year multiple times. He completed his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco in 1989 and has since been involved in various clinical trials aimed at improving outcomes for patients with major depressive disorder. His clinical work is enhanced by a commitment to advancing psychopharmacological approaches to treatment, ensuring that patients receive effective care tailored to their specific needs.
