Biography

Charles Dupras is an interdisciplinary researcher with expertise in ethics of science and technology. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, a Master's degree in Experimental Health Sciences from INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier, and a Ph.D. in Bioethics from the University of Montreal. His postdoctoral studies were completed in Philosophy at the Centre de recherche en éthique and in Law at the Centre de génomique et politiques at McGill University. He worked as a senior advisor in research ethics at the Secretariat on Responsible Conduct of Research for federal research funding agencies. Dupras has served on various ethics committees and currently holds advisory roles at the Canadian Bioethics Review and the International Human Epigenome Consortium. His research focuses on ethical, legal, and societal issues related to genetic sciences and promotes dialogue between bioethics and environmental ethics. He applies various methodological approaches to explore these themes and intends to continue investigating the impact of bias on scientific research and technological applications.
