Dr. Charles Elson

Biography

Charles Elson is a lecturer in law at Penn Carey Law and a retired Edgar S. Woolard, Jr. Chair in Corporate Governance. He is the founding director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware. His expertise includes corporate law, securities regulation, and corporate governance. Elson has served as a law professor at Stetson University College of Law and has been a visiting professor at several notable institutions. He has authored numerous publications on corporate governance and has contributed to numerous commissions relating to director compensation and board diversity. His advisory roles include positions with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and the National Association of Corporate Directors. With extensive experience on corporate boards, Elson has worked with various organizations, enhancing their governance practices. He has also served as a trustee for multiple institutions and has been recognized as one of the most influential figures in corporate governance and finance.
