Charles Larson graduated from McGill's Medical Class of 1971 and subsequently specialized in pediatrics and public health. He joined McGill Departments of Pediatric Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 1979. Larson began his global health career in the 1980s, working abroad in East Africa and South Asia.
