Biography

Charles F. Sabel is the Maurice T. Moore Professor at Columbia Law School, focusing on law and social science. He earned his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1978 and holds an A.B. from the same institution (1969). His work primarily examines the implications of mass production regulations on markets and the macroeconomy. Sabel is noted for developing pragmatist ideas within a general framework of democratic experimentalism, particularly regarding the regulation and provision of complex social services amidst uncertainty.
