Dr. Charles Tharp

Biography

Charles Tharp is a Lecturer in Management and Organizations at Boston University's Questrom School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Labor Industrial Relations from Michigan State University alongside an L.L.M. in Human Rights and Social Justice from the University of Connecticut School of Law. His academic qualifications also include a J.D. from Quinnipiac School of Law, an M.A. in Economics from Wayne State University, and a B.A. from Hope College. Tharp has extensive teaching experience, previously serving as a Visiting Lecturer at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations and as adjunct faculty at the University of Michigan for their Advanced Human Resource Executive Program. He has also held the title of Professor in Human Resource Management at Rutgers University and co-directed the Executive Master in Human Resource Leadership Program. In addition to his academic roles, Tharp has a robust corporate background with progressive leadership positions in human resources at major companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Saks, and PepsiCo, among others. He has also contributed to the field as a distinguished fellow at the National Academy of Human Resources.
