Biography

Charles K. Whitehead specializes in corporate law, business associations, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, and financial regulation. Before entering academia, he represented clients in transactions around the world and held senior legal and business positions in the financial services industry, including Managing Director at Nomura Securities International and Citigroup. He served as the Country Officer for Citigroup in Japan and was the Chief Operating Officer of the investment bank in Japan. In academia, he has been a Research Fellow at Columbia Law School before joining Boston University School of Law in 2006 and Cornell Law School in 2009. He is the founding director of the Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Program at Cornell Tech and has co-authored notable Securities Regulation casebooks in the United States. His current scholarship focuses on issues of securities regulation, financial regulation, and corporate governance.
