Charlie Beckett is the Director of Polis at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). With over 20 years of experience in broadcasting, he has worked with significant news organizations such as LWT, BBC, and ITN's Channel 4 News. Beckett is a recognized voice in media and political affairs and is the author of several influential books, including 'SuperMedia: Saving Journalism Save World' published by Blackwell in 2008 and 'WikiLeaks: News Networked Era' by Polity in 2012. His expertise lies in the intersection of media, journalism, and public life, and he teaches courses related to these fields at LSE. As a trustee of the European Journalism Centre, he actively engages in discussions and initiatives that seek to improve the standards and sustainability of journalism in today's rapidly changing media landscape. Throughout his career, Beckett has consistently emphasized the importance of considering the ethical and philosophical implications of journalism and the impact of technology on public communication and social change.
