Biography

Charlie Hindmarch is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Molecular Sciences at Queen's University, with a cross appointment in the Department of Medicine. He serves as the Associate Director of Research for the Translational Institute of Medicine (TIME) and is the Director of the Genomics, Transcriptomics, and Molecular Medicine laboratory within Queen's CardioPulmonary Unit (QCPU). Dr. Hindmarch obtained his BSc in Marine Biology from the University of Plymouth in 2001, followed by an MSc in Biochemical Pharmacology from the University of Southampton in 2003, and a PhD in Neuroscience Endocrinology from the University of Bristol in 2009. During his postdoctoral training at the University of Bristol, he held positions as a Senior Research Associate. He has previously been a visiting professor at the University of Malay in Malaysia and the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Dr. Hindmarch has published over 43 papers with an h-index of 29 and has contributed significantly to the field of translational medicine, focusing on improving research infrastructures and fostering collaboration within Queen's University.
