Biography

Charlotte Bunne is an Assistant Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, affiliated with the School of Computer and Communication Sciences and the School of Life Sciences. She is part of the Swiss Institute Experimental Cancer Research and the EPFL AI Center. Prior to her current position, she completed a Postdoctoral fellowship at Genentech, Stanford, working with Aviv Regev and Jure Leskovec. She earned her PhD in Computer Science from ETH Zurich, where she collaborated with Andreas Krause and Marco Cuturi. Bunne has also been a visiting researcher at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, working with Anne Carpenter and Shantanu Singh, and collaborated with Stefanie Jegelka at MIT. She has been recognized as an AI2050 Early Career Fellow and is a fellow of the German National Academic Foundation, receiving ETH Medals for her academic contributions. Her teaching includes courses on foundation models and generative AI, focusing on principles, architectures, and applications relevant to decision-making and scientific domains.
