Biography

Charlotte Cator is a Marie Curie Fellow specializing in Urban Studies and Social Policy at the University of Glasgow. Her research primarily addresses sustainable organizational economies and employs interdisciplinary approaches to examine analyses and critiques of capitalism in urbanized contexts. Currently, she is focused on a postdoctoral project that investigates waste management in cities, particularly through comparative studies of Glasgow and Mexico City. Her PhD from Copenhagen Business School, expected in 2024, explored the conditions that foster transformative social change and alternative economies in Amsterdam. Cator's research interests include Alternative Urban Economies, Waste, Capitalism, Critical Urban Theory, Climate Politics, Urban Political Ecology, and Qualitative Methods. She is involved in various research groups and has contributed to academic literature, including an article in the Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society. Additionally, she is a recipient of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions grant for her work on Circular Economies in Glasgow and Mexico City.
