Biography

Charlotte Christiansen is a Professor in the Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus University. She holds a PhD in Finance from Aarhus University, received in 2001. Her research focuses on empirical financial economics, which encompasses studies related to international stock and bond markets, the effects of uncertainty, and risk-return trade-offs. Additionally, she investigates household finance, specifically examining households' investment decisions. Throughout her career, she has contributed significantly to several committees and expert groups, including her role as a board member of the Danish Travel Guarantee Fund and AUFF Invest, as well as her participation in an expert group evaluating the active management of the Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global. In terms of teaching, Professor Christiansen supervises bachelor projects and master's theses in financial economics and holds the position of director of studies for the bachelor’s programs in Economics and Business Administration at Aarhus BSS. She actively engages in research with a particular interest in empirical finance and household finance, and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles throughout her career.
