Dr. Charlotte Holgersson

Biography

Charlotte Holgersson is an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Economics and Management at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. She obtained her doctoral degree from the Stockholm School of Economics in 2003, focusing on the recruitment of managing directors and the study of homosociality. Her research interests lie at the intersection of organizational management studies and gender studies, with an emphasis on empirical and theoretical explorations of gender ordering in organizations. Holgersson’s work investigates gender equality and diversity practices in organizational settings and addresses issues such as the perpetuation of men's dominance in top positions. She has been involved in various significant research projects, including those investigating the gender-organization nexus and the barriers to equality in the hospitality sector. Furthermore, she participates in gender equality initiatives at KTH and serves as an expert advisor at the KTH Equality Office. Her extensive publication list includes studies on nonprofit leadership, digitalization in home care from a gender perspective, and diversity management. Holgersson has also contributed to the academic community by teaching courses that cover gender equality, leadership, and organizational theories.
