Biography

Charlotte Reinholtz is a retired Associate Professor who contributed significantly to the field of linguistics, specializing in syntax, syntax-semantics, morpho-syntax, and field methods. Her research interests span various language families, including Algonquian, Scandinavian, and Bantu. She obtained her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Southern California in 1999. Her primary research areas include quantifiers, syntactic-semantic relations, functional categories, hierarchical structures, non-configurationality, negation, and question formation. In her teaching at Queen’s University, she offered courses such as Introduction to Linguistics, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, and Field Methods, guiding students through the complexities of language structure and function.
