Biography

Charlotte Sanders joined the School of Social Work at the University of Washington in December 2014 as an Assistant Teaching Professor and MSW Program Director. With over 22 years of experience in social services, she primarily focuses on working with youth and young adults in homeless service settings. Her roles have ranged from direct service to program management and advocacy, including a position as the Clinic Manager at Neighborcare Health’s Homeless Youth Clinic. In addition to her work in direct service, Charlotte serves as an on-call intake social worker for Washington State's Children’s Administration Central Intake Unit. She co-chairs an interprofessional course on homelessness at UW and is actively involved in preparing MSW students for careers in behavioral health. Charlotte's commitment to social justice and advocacy is evident through her engagement with children, youth, and families, particularly in addressing issues like child welfare, poverty, homelessness, and behavioral health care.
