Biography

Chastain "Chaz" Clark is a lecturer at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the School of Architecture. He is an artist and designer based in Atlanta, Georgia, and is the founder and principal of Studio Chastain, a design studio that specializes in design, fabrication, and installation of art objects and public sculptures. Throughout his career, Clark has designed and installed numerous large-scale exterior murals, including seven works at public schools across the state of Georgia. While studying architecture at Georgia Tech, he developed expertise in computational design and digital fabrication, using parametric modeling and multi-axis computer numerical control (CNC) machining to design, fabricate, and install public works. He also leads mural design workshops, most notably at Springdale Park Elementary in Atlanta, where a two-week project culminated in the installation of a mural created alongside students. Since 2019, Clark has regularly exhibited his paintings and sculptures in more than a dozen group shows. A lifelong Atlantan, he enjoys spending time with his wife Roxy, and their families and friends, often grilling in the backyard and trying new restaurants and bars in the city.
