Dr. Chelsea Gabel

Biography

Chelsea Gabel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Aging and Society at McMaster University. She is a Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Well-Being, Community Engagement, and Innovation. Gabel holds a PhD in Political Science from McMaster University. Her research focuses on Indigenous health and policy, examining the implications of various health and social policies on Indigenous communities. She is a Métis citizen of the Manitoba Métis Federation and is deeply committed to enhancing the well-being of Indigenous peoples through community engagement and innovative research approaches. As a Scientific Director of the Institute of Indigenous Health and various other affiliations, she is actively involved in advancing studies in Indigenous health, aging, and medicinal cannabis through collaborative research initiatives.
