Biography

Chelsey Ortman, M.D., is a board-certified pediatric neurologist at UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences, Dell Children’s. She specializes in pediatric epilepsy, the surgical treatment of epilepsy, pediatric neurocritical care, tuberous sclerosis, global medicine, and quality improvement in medical education. Dr. Ortman provides both inpatient and outpatient care to children with neurological diseases. She completed her medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia, followed by a five-year residency in child neurology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Children’s Hospital Pittsburgh. She also completed dual one-year fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and advanced pediatric epilepsy at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Dr. Ortman is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Epilepsy Society, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, the Child Neurology Society, and the American Academy of Neurology. Additionally, she has conversational proficiency in Japanese.
