Professor Dr. Chelsie Benca Bachman

Biography

Chelsie Benca-Bachman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. She received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Dr. Benca-Bachman's research interests center on the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of psychopathology, as well as the neural correlates associated with these issues. Her long-term research goals include understanding the etiology and bi-directional relationships between psychopathology, substance use, executive functioning, and sleep. Additionally, she aims to understand how a wide range of methods, such as genetic and neuroimaging analyses, can be utilized to integrate large secondary datasets and involve primary data collection through both human and animal models.
