Biography

Chen-Lung Hung is a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Purdue University. His research focuses on utilizing tabletop atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) systems to engineer novel quantum materials and investigate intriguing phenomena across disciplines including condensed matter and cosmology. He aims to explore a wide range of topics by exploiting physics governed by universality, investigating properties of cold dilute gases that behave similarly to exotic quantum materials present in solid states and cosmic fluids from the early universe. His laboratory is dedicated to applying quantum control and measurement techniques with great precision, providing a clean platform to address fundamental issues in quantum mechanics and related fields. Moreover, his research includes developing hybrid atom-nanophotonic quantum devices and exploring topological quantum materials through strong interactions between light and matter.
