Biography

Chen Qin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computing Research from Imperial College London in January 2020, following an M.Sc. in Control Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University in July 2015. Before joining Imperial, he served as a Lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh from July 2020 to September 2022. His research primarily revolves around Computer Vision and Machine Learning, with a particular focus on generative models, inverse problems, and multi-modal representation learning in medical image computing. Dr. Qin has published over 70 papers in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings in engineering and medical imaging. He has held notable positions as an area chair for MICCAI 2022-24 and has participated in organizing international workshops. His pioneering work in deep learning-based MRI reconstruction and image registration has earned recognition within leading academic and industrial sectors. He is currently looking for highly motivated Ph.D. students to join his research group, with studentships available for early 2025 entry.
