Biography

Wang’s work incorporates digital video, performance, 3D game design, sculpture, drawing, costume fabrication, and sound design. By layering mediums, Wang constructs immersive alternate realities that probe the intersections of myth, imagination, identity, and physical and virtual landscapes, crafting dreamscapes that envelop the viewer. Wang has exhibited both nationally and internationally at prominent venues including Fotografiska Museum in Sweden, China, Estonia, Roswell Museum in New Mexico, Lauren Powell Project in Los Angeles, Immigrant Artist Biennial in New York City, Alfred University, and Crosstown Art Center in Memphis. Wang has received fellowships, awards, and residencies including the New York Foundation for the Arts Artist Fellowship in Interdisciplinary Art, MacDowell Fellowship, Vermont Studio Center residency, NARS Artist Foundation in Brooklyn, and Roswell Artist Residency. Wang holds a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MFA in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology.
