Biography

Cheng Li holds a Ph.D. from Memorial University of Newfoundland and is a Professor and Director of the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University. With extensive experience in the field of wireless communications and networking, his research focuses on areas such as wireless communication networking, computer communication networks, signal processing, and the Internet of Things (IoT). He has contributed to numerous publications addressing advanced topics in routing protocols, performance analysis of communication systems, and networking theories. Cheng has received several awards for his work, including the Student Paper Award at NECEC’11 and multiple awards from the IEEE for his contributions to wireless sensor networks and other networking technologies. His teaching interests include programming, microprocessors, electrical and computer engineering design, and advanced data networks. Cheng is actively involved in academic services and mentoring students in both research and practical applications of engineering principles.
