Biography

Chengcheng Tao is an Assistant Professor in the School of Construction Management Technology at Purdue University. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. Dr. Tao's research focuses on sustainable construction materials manufacturing, non-Newtonian fluid rheology, multifunctional infrastructure materials, hazard-resilient infrastructure, and computational mechanics of materials. He has worked as an ORISE Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory. To date, he has published more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has been awarded over 20 research grants from various federal and private sources, including the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Transportation. Dr. Tao is also an Early-Career Research Fellow at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. In addition to his teaching and research, he is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Concrete Institute and the American Society of Civil Engineers, contributing as a voting and associate member in several technical committees.
