Biography

Chenxiao Wang is a graduate student in the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on social-emotional development and mental well-being among underrepresented and vulnerable children, youth, and families. Her main topics of interest include exploring promotive risk factors across multiple systems, developing and validating instrument scales to demonstrate measurement invariance, and creating, evaluating, and informing prevention intervention programs that involve school-based social-emotional learning (SEL) and poverty prevention. She aims to establish research-practice connections to foster an equitable developmental environment. Chenxiao conducts her quantitative research primarily utilizing nested, structured, longitudinal administrative data. Currently, she is advised by Drs. Quentin Riser and Sarah Halpern-Meekin and works at the REEL research labs.
