Dr. Cherry Meyer

Biography

Professor Meyer holds a joint appointment in the Department of Linguistics and the Department of American Culture at the University of Michigan. She specializes in Morphology, Semantics, and Sociolinguistics, with a focus on Language Documentation. Her research contributes to the understanding of language functions and structures among various communities, particularly within Native American Studies, where she is also a core faculty member. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago in 2020, after earning her B.A. from Wayne State University in 2012.
