Biography

Cheryl Besse is an Associate Professor in Academic Programming and an Undergraduate Academic Lead at the College of Nursing, University of Saskatchewan. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree in 1992 from the University of Saskatchewan and later completed her Master of Nursing degree, focusing her thesis on family perspectives in palliative care. Besse has extensive clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in areas such as acute medical/surgical care and obstetrics. Since 1994, she has taught a variety of courses in the BSN and PDBSN programs, developing a specialization in nursing education scholarship, particularly in teaching strategies and evaluation in clinical settings. Her research interests encompass Nursing Education, Feedback and Evaluation in Clinical Settings, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), and Anti-Racism in Nursing Education Methodology. Besse has actively disseminated her work through publications in reputable journals and presentations at various conferences. She is also involved with several external committees and has received multiple awards for her exceptional contributions to nursing education.
