Biography

Cheryl Chang graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2014. She joined the National Healthcare Group (NHG) National Psychiatry Residency Programme in 2016, rotating through various departments including National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore General Hospital (SGH), and the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). Dr. Chang obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK in 2018. During her residency years, she held leadership roles, serving as President of the Singapore Young Psychiatrist Trainees in 2019 and Chief Resident of the Psychiatry Residency Programme in 2020. She completed her training and successfully obtained specialist accreditation in Psychiatry in 2021. Dr. Chang has special interests in managing psychiatric conditions in transplant patients, as well as mood disorders and insomnia in outpatient settings. Additionally, she is passionate about education, having been involved in the teaching of both undergraduate students and psychiatry residents. She was awarded the Medical Teaching Recognition Award from the NHG Pre-Professional Education Office in 2019 for her contributions to clinical teaching. Currently, Dr. Chang serves as a Clinical Core Faculty Member of the NHG National Psychiatry Residency Programme, where she continues to guide and mentor trainees.
