Biography

Cheryl Gaimon became Regents’ Professor Emeritus at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology on January 1, 2025. Before retirement, she held the Esther Edward Brown Chair. Since starting her career at Georgia Tech in 1988, she established the Operations Management (OM) Program. Gaimon has directed curriculum and course development in OM to address pressing industry needs, significantly influencing junior colleagues and fostering innovative research in OM. Under her leadership, the OM program was recognized as fifth in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in 2025. Prior to Georgia Tech, she completed her Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University and was a tenured faculty member at Ohio State University. Gaimon's extensive research in technology management examines key questions related to innovative technology adoption, the impact of investments on competitive performance, and knowledge management strategies in dynamic markets. She has co-authored numerous influential papers in top management journals and has served in editorial roles, directly impacting the field. Gaimon has been actively involved in the Production Operations Management Society (POMS), where she has held various leadership roles, including POMS President and Fellow.
