Biography

Cheryl Rogers' research focuses on linking measurements from earth observation platforms to photosynthesis in order to understand, map, and monitor carbon exchange between ecosystems and the atmosphere. She holds an M.Sc. in Natural Resource Science from McGill University and a Ph.D. in Physical Geography from the University of Toronto. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the School of Earth, Environment & Society at McMaster University. Her work involves characterizing the spatial and temporal variability of vegetation structure, function, and physiology across scales ranging from individual leaves to global Earth systems. Her research is motivated by the desire to contribute to solving the challenges posed by climate change and she aims to monitor, predict, and mitigate the impacts that this global threat presents.
