Biography

Professor Chau has 30 years of extensive experience in venture development and investment in the Asia Pacific region. He is currently the Founding Chairman of the Private Angel Venture Development (PAVD), a non-profit platform with 80 active angels, super-angels, venture capitalists, private equity, and sovereign investors. PAVD collaborates with postgraduate programs at universities to provide entrepreneurship training, technological venture development, and fundraising support. Additionally, Professor Chau serves as the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Biotechnology Organisation and is the Founding Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Business Angel Network. He is involved with various boards, including China Gorges International, one of the world’s major clean energy companies, and InnoHK MagIC, which is one of six innovation centres at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). In the academic sector, he is an adjunct professor in the Department of Strategy & Policy at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School and teaches postgraduate courses primarily focused on technology commercialization, entrepreneurship, venture capital, angel investments, technological innovation, creative cultural entrepreneurship, cleantech, and sustainability.
