Biography

Chiara Daraio is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Physics at the California Institute of Technology, and an Investigator at the Heritage Medical Research Institute. She completed her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees at the University of Ancona in Italy in 2001, followed by a Master of Science from the University of California, San Diego in 2003, and a Ph.D. in 2006. Daraio started her academic career as an Assistant Professor at Caltech from 2006 to 2010, and subsequently became a Professor from 2011 to 2021. In 2021, she was appointed as the G. Bradford Jones Professor and also took on the role of Investigator at the Heritage Medical Research Institute.
