Biography

Chiara Saffirio is an Assistant Professor (SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellow) at the University of Basel, where she leads a research group in Mathematical Physics within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Her research is centered on the interplay between analysis and mathematical physics, with a specific focus on kinetic theory, scaling limits of interacting particle systems (both classical and quantum), and semiclassical analysis, particularly the theoretical aspects of partial differential equations. She is the Principal Investigator for the SNSF Eccellenza project titled 'Newton Schrödinger many-body dynamics and the Boltzmann equation', as well as an ERC Starting Grant project that advances effective evolution equations in classical and quantum systems. Richly engaged in both research and teaching activities, Saffirio aims to contribute significantly to the fields of mathematical physics and applied analysis.
