Biography

Chih-Yi Liao, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago. A medical oncologist specializing in hepatobiliary cancers and neuroendocrine tumors, he serves as the Medical Director of UChicago Medicine’s Hematology/Oncology clinic and Interim Director of the Gastrointestinal Oncology Program. Additionally, he is the Co-Director of the Neuroendocrine Tumor Program. Dr. Liao is a prolific clinical researcher who has served as the principal investigator on over 60 clinical trials involving novel systemic therapies for hepatobiliary cancers, neuroendocrine tumors, and thyroid cancer. His work has led to numerous publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. As a dedicated mentor, he is involved in the clinical education and research training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
