Biography

Chika Okafor is an Assistant Professor at the Kellogg School of Management specializing in Management and Organizations. An interdisciplinary scholar, Okafor focuses on the intersections of law, economics, and inequality, particularly in areas such as constitutional law and climate/energy law. His scholarship integrates economic theory and empirical methods to explore the impact of legal institutions and social networks on significant social and economic issues in contemporary American society, including economic inequality and climate change. Prior to joining Northwestern Pritzker Law faculty in 2025, Okafor held leadership roles in both the private and public sectors, including positions at McKinsey & Company and Skadden as a management consultant and corporate attorney, respectively. In public service, he founded Todaydream®, a social venture supporting K-12 students, and contributed to local and national efforts in gun violence prevention and economic policy. Okafor holds a PhD in economics from Harvard University, a JD from Yale Law School, and a BA from Stanford University, and has published extensively in law reviews and peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Law and Economics.
