Biography

Chike Jeffers is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Dalhousie University, where he also serves as an Honours Advisor and holds cross-appointments in Law and Society as well as Canadian Studies and International Development Studies. He is a Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) specializing in Africana Philosophy. Jeffers' academic background includes a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Northwestern University and a B.A. Honours in Philosophy from York University. His research interests are deeply rooted in Africana Philosophy, Race, Social Political Philosophy, and Ethics. He has published several works, including the co-authored book 'Race? Four Philosophical Views' and edited volumes focused on African Philosophy. His articles have appeared in prominent journals, addressing topics such as cultural nationalism and the ethics of cultural preservation. Jeffers actively engages in teaching, with upcoming courses in Philosophy planned for the Fall and Winter terms.
