Biography

Chin-Pang Liu received a First-Class B.Eng. (Hons.) Degree and a Ph.D. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from University College London (UCL) in 1994 and 2000, respectively. His Ph.D. research focused on optoelectronic mixing and heterojunction bipolar transistors. He worked as a project coordinator at JVC in Hong Kong from 1994 to 1995. He has been involved in various academic positions since 2000, including roles as a Research Fellow and later as an Associate Professor at UCL. Over the years, he has been recognized for his contributions to the field, winning the IEE Institution Prize in 1994 and the Overseas Research Students Award in 1995. He has also made significant contributions to conferences, including serving on technical program committees for the International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics from 2008 to 2010 and regularly reviewing for journals such as IET Optoelectronics and IEEE Photonics Technology Letters. Currently, Dr. Liu is the Admissions Director and Site Director for the UCL-Cambridge Centre for Doctoral Training in Connected Electronic Photonic Systems.
