Biography

Chin Hsiung Loh is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Structural Engineering at the Jacobs School of Engineering, University of California, San Diego. He has an extensive background in civil engineering, particularly in signal analysis, structural health monitoring, system identification, earthquake engineering, and seismic hazard analysis. Loh's academic journey began at National Taiwan University, where he earned his Ph.D. in civil engineering in July 1980. He has also served as a visiting professor at the University of California, San Diego, from August 2018 to January 2020, and as an adjunct professor at National Taiwan University since August 2020. In addition, he holds the title of professor emeritus at National Taiwan University since August 2018. Loh has contributed significantly to the field through his research and teaching, influencing many students and professionals in structural engineering and related areas.
