Biography

Chin Wei graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering in 1997. He continued his studies at the same institution to pursue a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, which he completed in 2002 under the supervision of Professors Tan Leng Seow and Gamani Karunasiri. His research focused on quantum photo detector device physics model development, particularly in optimizing the TE mode infrared response through device fabrication and characterization. Following his graduation, he gained teaching experience as a teaching assistant and graduate tutor. Chin Wei worked at TECH Semiconductor Singapore Pte. Ltd. (now Micron Semiconductor Asia Fab7) as a senior engineer involved in plasma dry etch process development and was later promoted to Principal Engineer. In 2011, he joined the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) as a Senior Lecturer, where he pursues his research and teaching career.
