Biography

Chintha Tellambura received a BSc degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with first-class honors from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 1986, an MSc degree in Digital Electronics from the University of London, U.K., in 1988, and a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Victoria, BC, Canada, in 1993. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Victoria (1993–1994) and the University of Bradford (1995–1996). He served as a lecturer from January 1997 to December 1998 and a senior lecturer from January 1999 to June 2002 at the Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He joined the University of Alberta as an Associate Professor (July 2002–June 2006) and has been a Professor since. He has been involved as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications and served as Area Editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. Tellambura is a Fellow of IEEE and was the Killam Professor at the University of Alberta for the academic year 2010–2011.
