Biography

Chitra Dinakar is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Stanford University and the Clinical Chief of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunodeficiency at Stanford Health Care. Prior to her role at Stanford, she was a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and served as the Director of the Food Allergy Center at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Dr. Dinakar completed her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and her residency in pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University/Metrohealth Medical Center in Ohio. She has medical training from JIPMER, a premier medical institution in India. Dr. Dinakar's expertise encompasses food allergies, asthma, and healthcare disparities, focusing on the delivery and outcomes of care. She has participated in over 50 multicentered clinical trials and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. Her current research includes the ASIAd study, examining allergic conditions in individuals of Asian descent and their unique food allergens. She has received numerous honors, including the Distinguished Fellow Award from the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and recognition as one of the Best Doctors in America.
